The Wenloch Abbey was an abbey in Snotinghamscire, England, Unlike most typical abbeys and monasteries, the priests of the abbey kept much of its cargo stored in the catacombs beneath, hoping to keep it hidden from Viking raiders.
In 874, the abbey was raided by the Viking Raven Clan led by Eivor Varinsdottir, who were able to locate the cargo whereabouts and looted it for their settlement of Ravensthorpe.
