Visitazione's Secret was a virtual representation of one of Ezio Auditore's genetic memories, relived by Desmond Miles in 2012 through the Animus 2.0.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Ezio explored the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione's catacombs in search an Assassin Seal hidden inside.
Dialogue[edit | edit source]
While in Venice, Ezio found the entrance to an Assassin Tomb in the Chiesa di Santa Maria della Visitazione. He entered it, dropping into the crypt and landing in a small hallway. At the end was a protruding beam, from which he performed a Leap of Faith into the haystack at the bottom. His landing made the hay rustle, catching the attention of a brute in the adjacent room who was playing cards with an agile.
- Guard 1: There is something moving over there in that haystack.
The guard got up to check the haystack.
- Guard 2: Sit back down, we're in the middle of playing a tarot game.
- Guard 1: No no! This time I saw something. I know it.
- Guard 2: That's what you say every time!
The brute poked the haystack with his battleaxe only to shout in alarm and step back when a rat suddenly emerged. His comrade laughed as his misfortune.
- Guard 2: You were right, there was something in that haystack you femminuccia (sissy)!
He left the table. At the same time, Ezio emerged from the haystack behind the brute.
- Guard 1: I'm tired of your jokes, this isn't funny! I could have been killed!
Ezio assassinated the brute. The agile guard, seeing his comrade's murder, fled from Ezio
- Guard 2: Leave me alone!
Run faster!
He threw levers along the halls to lower weighted gates and impede his pursuer. Thinking he was safe after putting some distance between himself and Ezio, he paused to catch his breath.
- Guard 2: Yes. Yes, I think I got away.
At that moment, Ezio caught up to him and the chase resumed. The guard grew increasingly desperate.
- Guard 2: Have to find a way out before he kills me...
Seeing a Templar guard post up ahead, he called out to them.
- Guard 2: We're under attack! Guards! Guards, to arms! To arms!
Ezio killed him just as they crossed into the guard station, which was vacant. Across from the station, he saw a locked door with a central Assassin insignia surrounding a skull. He activated it and the door lifted. Descending down a short flight of stairs, he threw a lever at the base and a number of hidden beams in the walls extended out for him to traverse over a flooded room with a mausoleum in its center. While navigating the course, his added weight on four beams activated mechanisms that shifted the marble tiles which made up the tomb's doorway. When the tiles aligned to create another Assassin insignia, a series of stone steps rose from the water to allow access to tomb and the door receded into the opposite inner wall. Inside, Ezio found a number of small treasure chests and Leonius' sarcophagus, which was also locked with a skull in an Assassin insignia. Ezio opened it and claimed the Assassin seal within, then noticed a trap door had been unlocked. He entered it and later emerged out of a manhole back in Venice's streets.
Outcome[edit | edit source]
Ezio retrieved one of the six Assassin Seals needed to unlock the Armor of Altaïr in the Villa Auditore's Sanctuary.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Within the room which contained the freerunning puzzle was an easter egg in which a large squid would attempt to attack Ezio with one of its tentacles, with him barely dodging it.
- It is possible to kill the fleeing Templar before he reaches the other guards. When approaching the guard post, there is a short window for the player to use throwing knives or the Hidden Gun to kill the runner before he closes the door. If successful, the player can then sneak past the guard post.
