Toa was chief of a village on the Samoan island of Savai'i. Around 824, Fuladh Al Haami visited and asked Toa and his sister Nafanua for help, showing them symbols their culture recognized as harbingers of great evil. However, as war raged between the island's eastern and western halves, Toa had to stay while Nafanua travelled to Fustat.[1] After Nafanua died from ingesting poisoned water, Roshan retrieved her hook weapon Tafesilafa'i in the hopes she could return it to Toa and tell him where they had buried her.[2]
