The Pioneers were a group of vase painters and potters active in ancient Greece during the late 6th and early 5th centuries BCE. Based at the Kerameikos quarter in Athens, they were known for introducing new artistic ways and innovations to portrayals of everything from aristocratic parties to mythological duels.
Known members include Euthymides, Euphronios, Phintias, and Smikros.[1]
