Temple of Herakles

The Temple of Herakles was a temple dedicated to the hero Herakles in Thasos City on the Greek island of the same name.

Worshipped throughout the island as the main deity, Herakles was called Soter, the savior, and his likeness was minted on Thasian coins.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the occupied temple was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra.[2]
