Official Synopsis[edit | edit source]

Greece, 431 BCE
In 431 BCE, the culturally-progressive Athenians faced a powerful foe in what became known as the Peloponnesian War.

The Athenians, living off their past successes, were the face of the New World. Yet representing the Old World were the Spartans - a highly militaristic and rigid empire that had established themselves as a dangerous and unstoppable force. The Spartans were determined to use their might and ferocity to take Athens for themselves.

Each side allied itself with other Greek city-states for strength and protection. The balance of power frequently shifted between the Athenian-led Delian League and the Spartan-led Peloponnesian League.

Amidst this raging conflict, mercenaries such as Alexios or Kassandra thrived. While the details of their history remain unclear, we know from their fragmented genetic memories that they took part in the war, supporting one side or the other based on their convictions, circumstances, or simply necessities.

To leaders and politicians, they were viewed as chess pieces. To the people, they inspired both freedom and fear. But for any true warrior, they embodied the archetypal Greek Hero!

With the power of the Animus simulation, it is now your turn to experience the epitome of such mercenary lives...
