The Salty Bear was a cave by Red Lake Bay in Lokris, Greece that was named in reference to an alpha bear which inhabited it.
By the time of the Peloponnesian War, the cave had become the den of bears. At some point, the Spartan misthios Kassandra found the cave and slew the alpha bear.[1]
