Perieres was a King of Messene in Greek mythology. He was the first husband of Gorgophone, with whom they had several children, including possibly Tyndareus.
During the Peloponnesian War, the misthios Kassandra found a tablet describing Perieres' relationship with Gorgophone while exploring an ancient vault beneath the Foundry of Hephaistos.[1]
