Don Pedro Navarro, Count of Oliveto (c. 1460 – 28 August 1528) was a Spanish military engineer and general who conquered the city of Tripoli in Libya.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In 1511, one year after his conquest of Tripoli, Navarro was visited in the city by a group of Ottoman Assassins, who offered him money and protection in exchange for knowledge of his renowned weaponry.[1] Later, Navarro was kidnapped by the Templars due to his involvement with the Assassins, but was eventually saved by the latter.[2] Upon his rescue, he informed the Brotherhood that the Templars in Tripoli were receiving their orders from Rhodes, allowing the Assassins to cut off their supply and communication lines.[3]
