Oswald of Northumbria

Oswald (c. 604 – 5 August 642) was the King of Deira and Bernicia from 633 until his death,[1] whereupon he was posthumously known as the King of Northumbria as a whole. Later venerated as a saint, an illustration of him was included in the 13th century Epitome of Chronicles by the Benedictine chronicler monk Matthew Paris.[2]
