North Bridge was a bridge in Concord in the Frontier during the American Revolution. It was the site of one of the first skirmishes of the war.
History[edit | edit source]
At the beginning of the American Revolutionary War, during the Battle of Concord, about 90 British soldiers tried to defend North Bridge against colonial militiamen. Not expecting them to be as organized as they were, they fled, leading to a victory for the Patriots.[1]
The bridge was torn down in 1788 and replaced by another bridge built nearby.[1]
