The Nine Roads Camp

The Nine Roads Camp was a military camp located on the eastern side of the Hill of the Sacred War in Phokis, Greece.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra infiltrated the camp, killing the captain of the soldiers therein, and claiming their valuables.[1]

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • The name of the camp seems to reference the Thracian settlement of Ennea-Hodoi (meaning Nine Ways/Roads), upon which Amphipolis was built.
