Madeline, Countess Blücher[1] (née Dallas; 1803 – 1870) was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Augusta of Prussia and a close friend of Queen Victoria.

Biography[edit | edit source]

In April 1865, through a series of royal correspondences regarding Victoria's third daughter Helena's betrothal, Madeline remarked that she favored Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein as a potential suitor. Together, they thought about ways to seemingly bring the two together naturally.[2] On 26 June 1867, in a letter penned to Duke Augustus FitzRoy, Victoria told him that all inquiries regarding her servant John Brown and her displeasure at his being disallowed from accompanying her to a review in Hyde Park were to be directed to Madeline instead.[3]
