Ma'bad was a man who lived in a village west of Baghdad during the 9th century.
Biography[edit | edit source]
At some point in the 860s, Ma'bad and his fellow villagers welcomed Chinese merchants while he concocted a plan to steal one of their wares and sell it for a profit between him and his cohorts. However, his plan backfired when his cohorts unknowingly stole a vase of toxic minerals similar to salammoniac that were meant for Caliph al-Musta'in's royal alchemists.[1]
