Lluís Andreu Pardo was formerly the Lead 3D Artist at Ubisoft Barcelona. He was a part of the development team for Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. He is currently the Lead Environment and Outsource Artist at Parallel Studios.[1]
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early life and career[edit | edit source]
Lluis Andreu graduated from Animum in 2006 mastering in modelling and textures for video games and 3D art, and from the Open University of Catalonia in 2015 with a degree in Communication. Some of his past experiences include working as an Environment Artist for Asobo Studio, then Crytek, before beginning his employment as a Lead 3D Artist at Ubisoft Barcelona in 2016. His first Ubisoft game he worked on was Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege.[1]
Assassin's Creed[edit | edit source]
Andreu's involvement in Assassin's Creed III Remastered marked his debut as Lead 3D Artist under Ubisoft Barcelona's leadership. Assigned to enhance a previous masterpiece developed by Ubisoft Montreal for current-generation platforms, Andreu's team faced significant technical and artistic challenges. The project demanded comprehensive updates leveraging modern capabilities, requiring collaboration across multiple Ubisoft studios. The art team, led by Andreu, undertook a monumental effort encompassing diverse disciplines. Their contributions spanned extensive enhancements essential for revitalizing the game, reflecting a concerted endeavor by a dedicated project-specific team.[2]
Andreu, as Lead Artist, spearheaded the development of the Daughters of Lerion encounters in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla. He led the creation of their distinct visual style and atmospheric arenas, focusing on combat VFX and immersive lighting. Andreu also integrated narrative elements that unified the sisters' story and background. His oversight ensured the arenas aligned with the game's overall art direction, maintaining the series' high standards. Collaborative efforts, particularly from team members Pau Treserra and Pablo Ruano, were crucial in refining the arenas throughout development.[3] Adreau and his team also handled Lerion's Estate and even assisted in the narrative.[4] He worked alongside Daniel Diaz Saez, Alexander Joseba, and Santi Lopez on the Animus Anomalies.[5] With his usual team, he led the development of the Giant boss fight arena's for the dream sequences.[6]
