Leopold I (1790 – 1865) was the king of Belgium from 21 July 1831 until his death in 10 December 1865.[1]

On 27 April 1865, his niece Queen Victoria wrote him a letter responding to his messages sent on the 23rd and 25th, asking him to never neglect his doctor William Jenner's advice again, for it caused him to become quite sick. She also commented on the weather, the American news about Abraham Lincoln's assassination, and matchmaking among the European royals.[2]
