Jean-Philippe Lauer (1902 – 2001) was a French architect and Egyptologist.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Lauer devoted his life to exploring Djoser's funerary complex. In 1934, he found a left foot inside Djoser's Step Pyramid, which he believed belonged to the pharaoh whose mummy was never found.[1]
