Impact bomb casings were a component used by the Ottoman Assassins to craft bombs, which, being made out of fragile terracotta, would explode upon collision with any type of surface. In terms of bomb-crafting, impact casings could be used in conjunction with any gunpowder type or ingredient. Due to the ease with which terracotta was made, the impact shell was the most common.[1]
