The exterior of an Impact bomb

Impact bomb casings were a component used by the Ottoman Assassins to craft bombs, which, being made out of fragile terracotta, would explode upon collision with any type of surface. As such, they were best used for the quick deployment of the finished bomb's ingredient effect. In terms of bomb-crafting, impact casings could be used in conjunction with any gunpowder type or ingredient. Due to the ease with which terracotta was made, the impact shell was the most common.[1]
