Hiero I (died 467 BCE) was tyrant of Syracuse from 478 to 467 BCE. He succeeded his brother Gelo.
After Hiero's victory at the Battle of Cumae in 474 BCE, he dedicated a pair of tripods to the Sanctuary of Delphi. He also dedicated the tripods to Gelo to recall his brother's victory at the Battle of Himera.[1]
