Hetepheres I was a Queen of Egypt during the Fourth Dynasty of Egypt.
She is believed to have been Khufu's mother, and the northernmost pyramid in his funerary complet was most likely meant for her. In 1925, her actual tomb was discovered hidden in an underground chamber at the bottom of a deep masonry pit. Within the concealed chamber, Egyptologists discovered the most complete royal funerary equipment dating from the Old Kingdom, though her body was missing.[1]
