We do this together or not at all.

It has been proposed that this page be merged with Battle of Meretun, under the article: Battle of Meretun. Discussion to this effect can be held on the former article's talk page.

Bedwyn was an open field, known for the Battle of Bedwyn.

History[edit | edit source]

Following a loss at the battle of Ashdown, the Great Heathen Army regrouped and marched for Bedwyn for another engagement against King Æthelred I of Wessex and his brother Alfred. This time, the Vikings were successful and the Saxons were driven back.[1]
