The Gobi Desert is a large desert in East Asia, covering northern and northeastern China and southern Mongolia.[1] In 1424, while the Yongle Emperor of the Ming dynasty was on campaign to suppress a rebellion near the desert, the Chinese Assassin Li Tong sneaked into his tent at night and assassinated him.[2]
