The young man

An unidentified young man (fl. 1524) lived in Florence during the 16th century and was the last person to speak with the elderly, retired Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

Biography[edit | edit source]

On 30 November 1524, the young man crossed paths with Ezio, who was on a shopping trip in Florence with his wife, Sofia Sartor, and daughter, Flavia Auditore. Following a coughing fit, Ezio sat on a bench in the Piazza della Signoria while his family perused the square's open markets when the Florentine man came and sat beside him. He rudely complained about the city, believing Rome's nightlife and women to be of superior quality, sentiments for which Ezio berated him. Seeing Ezio suddenly in physical distress from a heart attack, the young man wished him courage and smiled before leaving.[1]

In 2013, an Abstergo Entertainment employee who worked on the Sample 17 Project believed that the young man was a Templar who had killed Ezio based on seeing footage of Ezio's last moments.[2]
