Devil's Rock

Devil's Rock is an island in the West Indies.

A narrow canyon in the area was used by merchants to take shelter from storms, only to be ambushed by pirates.

In 1716, the French pirate Olivier Levasseur attacked a ship belonging to Captain Barnes in Devil's Rock, and freed the latter's captives, Alonzo Batilla and Jumao. Instead of taking the two aboard his own ship, Olivier granted Alonzo his own vessel, the Serpent.
