A view of the Agoge Camp North

Agoge Camp North was a small camp located in the Chasms of Mount Taygetos, Lakonia. During the Peloponnesian War Iatrokles was in charge of the camp.

It was used as one of the camps where Spartan males aged 7 to 29 took part in the agoge, an education system to train them for the military.[1]

In 429 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra escorted Makarios, the son of the magistrate Xanthe and Serios, to the camp for training.[2]
