Pope Clement XI (23 July 1649 – 19 March 1721), born Giovanni Francesco Albani, was Pope from 1700 to his death.

During his papacy, Clement instigated renovations of the Basilica dei Santi Apostoli, which had also previously been done by Pope Martin V.[1]
