It's looking like the bleeding effect is actually a misconception on the half of Abstergo and the modern-day Assassins. In my opinion, the bleeding effect and the Sixth Sense, this "knowledge" are one and the same, albeit with slightly different abilities accessible. Kind of like entering the same room through two seperate door; the room has the same object in it, but you pick up different ones in a different order depending on which door you use.
