Baldwin II (c. 1217 – October 1273) was the last Emperor of the Latin Empire from 1228 to 1261.
During his reign, Baldwin was in possession of Jesus Christ's crown of thorns. In 1238, he sold the crown to King Louis IX of France, who housed it and other relics in the newly constructed Sainte-Chapelle in Paris.[1]
