His adopted parents (who still remain nameless) first came across his skills when he was 15 and got into a fight with another child of the tribe because the other boy was bullying a younger group of children, this boys name was Makhpí:ashá. The fight was broken up by both the boys' parents and Gabriel / Aka:chéta was taken home. The village elders saw the fight and also witnessed the childs skills in combat. One of the elders (who was a descendant of the village elder who guided Ratonhnhaké:ton in the viallge of Kanatahséton) thought that gabriel / Aka:chéta should also go and see what he could do with his "gifts" up at Davenport Homestead which she knew to be the final resting place of Achilles Davenport, it was here where Gabriel would meet the man who could train him to fight for a cause and this would make him a better ally when they were in times of great danger. But when the village elders went to speak to his parents about this they refused to let their son become what they had tried to keep him so far away from. In their rage the elders banished them from the clan without Gabriel / Aka:chéta's knowledge and they were not seen again near those parts of the land. Gabriel was told that they were savaged by wolves whilst they were hunting but he knew that something was wrong as his parents never went hunting as they did not like to kill. He left the village to go and find them or their bodies and bring them back to where they belonged. He was followed by one of the younger, more healthy of village elders but he did not know this. He managed to track his parents all the way to the outskirts of Kanien'kehá:ka where he was informed of what the elders had done but he was not told why his parents were exiled. It was when he persuaded them to come back that the elder who had followed him shot his mother in the neck and his father in the heart with his bow and ran up to the boy to kill him, but Aka:chéta's quick reactions soon had him on the floor with a hunting knife embeded in his throat. He ran over to his parents bodies to find that his father had been killed instantly but his mother was still breathing heavily, blood pouring from her mouth and neck. She managed to offer him short words of comfort just before her passing. It is not known what she said to him but her words were ringing through Aka:chéta's head and making his anger burn within in him, growing stronger every second. | ||
