Jeanne (1725 - unknown) was the wife of Philippe Olivier de Grandpré and the mother of Aveline de Grandpré. She was born in West Africa and captured early on by slavers, eventually being sold to  In 1759, she mysteriously disappeared, after her daughter had let go of her hand in the middle of New Orleans.

Biography
Early life
At some point in the early part of her life, Jeanne was taken as a slave from her homeland on the West Coast of Africa and transported to Saint-Domingue, a colony situated on the island of Hispaniola.
Shortly after her arrival in Colonial America, she was purchased by Philippe Olivier de Grandpré, a wealthy French merchant, and taken as a Plaçage bride. Eventually however, Jeanne and Philippe grew to be rather intimate, which resulted in the conception of a daughter, Aveline de Grandpré, who would later go on to become an Assassin.
Chichen Itza
Some time would pass after her disappearance before Aveline ascertained her location to Chichen Itza, wherein Jeanne resided in a freed slaves' settlement nearby a Mayan temple. On witnessing Aveline, and the Hidden Blade she possessed, Jeanne refused to disclose any information to her daughter; she recognized it to be a symbol of the Assassins, which she had cut all ties to due a past discovery.
She would come across her daughter again when Aveline returned to retrieve the second part of a First Civilization artifact. There, Jeanne did not run from Aveline, having accepted her daughter for who she was as opposed to her allegiances, and made mention of a canoe that Aveline could use to help her find what she sought.
Following this, Jeanne remained in Chichen Itza, as she felt that New Orleans would never be safe for her, and that the community in which she resided needed her more.
Trivia
*Before giving it to her daughter as a necklace, Jeanne was in possession of an amulet belonging to the First Civilization, which had the ability to open the entrance to the Grand Temple, along with the use of an Apple. It was strikingly similar, if not identical in appearance, to the amulet that the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton took from the Templar Charles Lee.
*Three men were known to have had romantic feelings for Jeanne: her husband and father of Aveline, Philippe, the Assassin and later Mentor of the French Colonial Brotherhood, Agaté, and François Mackandal, the Mentor of the Caribbean Colonial Brotherhood and Agaté's former tutor and friend.
*Jeanne kept two diaries throughout her life, in which she chronicled her thoughts, that were later collected and compiled together by Aveline.
