Todd McFarlane is a Canadian comic book artist and writer best known for co-creating the characters Venom and Spawn, and for co-founding Image Comics. His company McFarlane Toys produces action figures for the Assassin's Creed franchise.

McFarlane provided promotional art for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and attended the game's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, where he suggested the idea of a game following a Newfie pirate which subsequently appeared in Assassin's Creed: Rogue. He also designed a Master Assassin outfit for Arno Dorian in Assassin's Creed: Unity.
