The Hyena Lair was a cavern inhabited by hyenas and the Order of the Ancients member Khaliset in the western hills of Giza during the 1st century BCE.
Sometime after Khaliset lost her daughter Eshe, she begun gathering silica and haunting all who passed her way in Giza's desert. When she was not out hunting men or silica, she stayed in the Lair, keeping her prisoners in a cage until she either fed them to her hyenas or sacrificed them in misguided attempts to resurrect her daughter. In 48 BCE, the Medjay Bayek of Siwa found the place, and upon investigating it, picked up the Hyena's tracks.[1]
