This article is about the son of Oileus. For other uses, see Ajax.

Ajax the Lesser, also called the Lokrian Ajax, was the son Oileus and the King of Lokris who participated in the Trojan War in Greek mythology.

In Greek traditions, Ajax was said to be buried on Mykonos after his death, near the coast where his ship had sunk.[1]

Legacy[edit | edit source]

During the Peloponnesian War, Ajax's alleged shipwreck was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra. A military camp in the White Crystal Hills of Lokris was also named after him.[2] In the same time period, there was also a man who named himself after Ajax, claiming to be the hero reborn.[3]
