Hjalmgunnar, Lord of Døkkerland and former King of the Goths, was ever driven by ambition. His goal was once to be lauded in Asgard, but now he is resigned to rule in Niflheim. Yet his restless spirit remains unsatisfied while Odin goes unpunished for the broken oath that laid him low. In his former life, he had been promised a great victory by the High One only to be betrayed on the battlefield and cast down among the shameful dead. He has set about rebuilding himself into an instrument, and the lightest touch of lightning or its ilk can weaken the sometimes clumsy connections that make up his reconstructed nervous system.
