[[Assassins|Assassin]] Bureau's have been used through out the ages for multiple purposes. An Assassin's Bureau was designed originally to establish Assassin presence with in a city/ town. The Bureau serves as an intelligence center which allows the Assassin in charge of the Bureau to report back to the main Assassin H.Q. about events that were taking place in the city. Examples of this are shown in the first Assassin's creed game when Altair Ibn La' Ahad, would travel to a certain city in the holy land for a mission. However the mentor of the Assassins at the time ( Al Mualim) would send a pigeon ahead of Altair to led the Bureau leader know that Altair was on his way. Bureau leaders and Assassin H.Q. correspondents were known to use carrier pigeons to send messages back and forth, this allowed messages to travel faster than messengers on horse back.

[[Assassins]] use these nondescript locations as a place to regroup and prepare for the next mission.

As the Assassin order expanded beyond the holy land, more Assassin Bureaus were established. As the Assassins grew with the modern goal of freedom instead of peace, which was set in motion by Altair; The Assassins began to develop their technology further and they began to use these Assassin Bureaus for training grounds for new recruits. These Bureaus have also been used to help Assassins prep for a mission, or they are used as resting points for Assassins on the road.
