In the year 1204, during the Fourth Crusade, the [[Grand Master of the Assassin Order|Grand Master]] of the [[Assassins|Assassin Order]], [[Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad]], attempted to spread the Order's influence to Constantinople. In the year 1257, the explorers [[Niccolò Polo|Niccolò]] and [[Maffeo Polo]] were invited by Altaïr's son [[Darim Ibn-La'Ahad|Darim]] to the Assassins' headquarters of [[Masyaf]] to meet Altaïr. The reason behind this was that Altaïr wanted the explorers to return to their hometown of Constantinople and start a guild there, and in [[Italy]]. Circa 1503, the Grand Master of the Assassin Order [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] sent a group of Assassins to Constantinople to steal maps of the city from [[Piri Reis]] and remove [[Ferdinand II of Aragon]]'s spies from the Jewish refuges from Spain that were travelling to Constantinople, where they were welcomed by Sultan [[Bayezid II]].
