| In the year 1257, the explorers [[Niccolò Polo|Niccolò]] and [[Maffeo Polo]] were invited by Altaïr's son [[Darim Ibn-La'Ahad|Darim]] to the Assassins' headquarters of [[Masyaf]] to meet Altaïr. The reason behind this was that Altaïr wanted the explorers to return to their hometown of Constantinople and start a guild there, and in [[Italy]]. The explorers travelled to Constantinople, hiding Altaïr's [[Seals of Altaïr|five seals]] throughout the city and attempting to start a guild,<ref name="The Secret Crusade"/> but the guild would not be formed for around another 250 years.<ref name="Brotherhood"/><ref name="Project Legacy"/>

| Circa 1503, the Grand Master of the Assassin Order [[Ezio Auditore da Firenze]] sent a group of Assassins to Constantinople to steal maps of the city from [[Piri Reis]] and remove [[Ferdinand II of Aragon]]'s spies from the Jewish refuges from Spain that were travelling to Constantinople, where they were welcomed by Sultan [[Bayezid II]]. After having completed in the latter task, a guild was ultimately formed in the city.<ref name="Brotherhood"/><ref name="Project Legacy"/>
