thats a good question. ive always thought of the war as a long lineage type of thing. and since we know cain killed able to steal a piece of eden (became the first templar) would seth necessarily have to be the first assassin so to speak? but what if it didnt start as a lineage thing, what if seth and a few other people who shared his same views about the piece of eden joined together, and called their alliance the assassins? as the time of altair rolls around the assassins sole purpose is to keep the pieces of eden out of templar hands, correct?
