==Development==
In April 2021, the new webtoon was announced alongside eight other future ''Assassin's Creed'' projects. ''{{Wiki|Game Informer}}'' reported that the comic would expand on the story of Edward Kenway following the events of ''Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag''.
