In the 860s, while working at his office in the court, 'Adil was visited by the [[Hidden One]] [[Basim Ibn Ishaq]], who came seeking information on governor Tahir. Adil agreed to answer a few questions in exchange for a few [[Khidmah Tokens|tokens]], which Basim agreed to give. Contrary to what Basim wanted, 'Adil simply told him that the governor was a respected and feared official who was dedicated to rule of law and order. Basim pressed him for information, stating 'Adil should know more since the governor's office would be in the court as well.
