==Description==
The ''[[youxia]]'' disciple headed to a village on the frontier to extract information from [[Touman|Touman Chanyu]]'s men, who were possibly allied with the [[Department of Immortality]].

==Dialogue==
The disciple made their way to the village mentioned by Modu. When they arrived, [[Xiongnu]] [[soldier]]s fought against its inhabitants.

After they defeated a number of raiders, the ''youxia'' approached the largest house in the village from where the leader of the invaders came out.

The Xiongnu got up and ran out of the village, with the disciple following him from a distance.

Wulei momentarily stopped outside the village entrance to shout back curses.
*'''Wulei:''' ''No one gets away with insulting a prince! I'll be back to raze this village to the ground!''
The disciple tailed the prince to small gorge, where they [[Eavesdropping|eavesdropped]] on a conversation between him and another Xiongnu.
*'''Xiongnu scout:''' ''My prince, there you are! We thought we had lost you. We sent a few search parties to no avail.''

The ''youxia'' continued to follow him through the ravine, with Wulei stopping by the entrance of hut and kneeling beside it. Eventually, the Xiongnu prince left the gorge and arrived at his clan's camp, where another Xiongnu warrior waited for him.
*'''Xiongnu hunter:''' ''My prince, you are back! I am just about to hunt, would you care to join?''
*'''Wulei:''' ''Perhaps another time, I am exhausted today. But my father and I are grateful for the game you always provide.''

Wulei walked to the main yurt while the ''youxia'' trailed from behind.
*'''Wei Yu's disciple:''' ''Hmmm, so this is where Touman Chanyu resides. I'll need to find proof of their collusion with the Qin. Perhaps I can infiltrate the camp as a passing [[merchant]].''
They entered the camp and [[Social stealth|blended in]] with its Xiongnu inhabitants, overhearing a conversation between two herders.

The disciple approached the main yurt guarded by a pair of Xiongnu.

The man, followed by another guard, approached the disciple.
*'''Xiongnu guard 1:''' ''You walk into our camp without wares and a weapon on your back, are you asking for an early death?''

They approached the tent, only to be met by Wulei who was walking out of it at the same time.

The guards came up from behind the ''youxia'', ready to detain them. Exposed, the ''youxia'' fled from the camp as every Xiongnu warrior in the  village pursued them.
*'''Xiongnu guard:''' ''You heard the prince! Kill that scoundrel! Don't let that Qin snake near our prince!''
*'''Wei Yu's disciple:''' ''I'm outnumbered... time to get out of here. But they seem to know Duanhe.''
The ''youxia'' escaped the village.
*'''Wei Yu's disciple:''' ''I can't take on a whole village by myself. I should return in the evening when they're asleep.''
Their pursuers gone, the disciple found a small abandoned camp.

They rested and time passed. Once the night fell, the disciple returned to the camp.

The disciple silently returned to Touman's camp, eavesdropping on a couple of herders inside a tent.

The ''youxia'' mused on what they heard.

While sneaking past the herders guarding the camp, they overheard them talking amongst themselves.

The disciple then infiltrated the main yurt, finding and reading a note over a table.
*'''Wei Yu's disciple:''' ''Touman Chanyu has ordered all the scattered tribes to gather here... This is bad, he's gathering forces.''
They directed their course to another tent, overhearing another conversation along the way, this time between a purple-garbed soldier and a Xiongnu.
*'''Xiongnu guard 2:''' (laugh) ''Hah, of course, you don't have to worry.''
*'''Purple soldier:''' ''If Touman keeps up his end of the deal, the next batch of supplies will be coming soon. And don't forget to hand him the missive in the tent. The letter is from my boss, Duanhe.''

The disciple entered the tent and picked up the scroll mentioned by the soldier, reading it.

As they defeated the challengers, more rose out of the bushes to face them.

Though the disciple persisted, the raiders continued to swarm and attack them.

==Outcome==
The ''youxia'' found evidence that corroborated Yang Duanhe and the Department of Immortality's collusion with Touman Chanyu. They were subsequently saved from a Xiongnu ambush by Modu, who warned alerted to them of an impending attack by Touman on Tulu Pass, as well as of Duanhe's plans to help them.
