'''Takeda Castle''' (竹田城) was a castle situated in [[Takeda]] in [[Tanba|Tamba]], [[Japan]]. Its ruins have been protected as a National Historic Site since 1943.<ref name="Wiki">{{WP|Takeda Castle}}</ref>

==History==
In 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] member and [[samurai]] [[Yasuke]] entered the castle grounds and heard [[Portuguese Rite of the Templar Order|Portuguese]] [[Master Templar]] [[Nuno Caro]] talking to his men about [[Hosokawa Tama]]'s betrayal. Then, he turned to find Yasuke, who exclaimed that he will pay for what he had done to him, much to Caro's surprise. When Yasuke revealed that he was once his [[Slavery|slave]] and how Caro killed his [[Yasuke's mother|mother]], Caro responded that her death was necessary to teach a lesson but Yasuke did not learn. Fed up, Caro ordered his men to kill "Diogo" while he moved towards the ''tenshu''.<ref name="The End of the Line">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The End of the Line]]</ref> 

However, Yasuke defeated his [[soldier]]s and samurai in his way and soon faced Caro inside the ''tenshu''. Fighting against Caro, Yasuke bested him and kicked him towards the ledge outside. Although Caro begged for mercy, Yasuke tossed him over the ledge, leaving Caro bleeding and nearly dead. While Caro tried to crawl away, Yasuke came to finish the job. While Caro told him that his path will not bring his mother back, Yasuke clarified that Caro's death will serve as a [[Assassin-Templar War|declaration]] of war against the [[Templars]]. While Caro rebuffed his statement, Yasuke readied his [[katana]] to kill Caro. Just as the moment Caro took out his [[pistol]], Yasuke struck the fatal blow to Caro and recovered the [[amulet]] [[Masakado's Vengeance]].<ref name="The End of the Line"/>

At some point, Yasuke and infiltrated into the castle together, eliminated five of its ''{{Wiki|ja:侍大将|samurai daisho}}'', looted the [[Hidden Servant Hat]] from its [[treasure chest]], and climbed to the top of its ''tenshu'' to [[Viewpoint|oversee]] the land.<ref name="ACSH">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]''</ref>
