==History==
In 1573, {{Wiki|Takayama Tomoteru}} and his son [[Takayama Ukon]] became the lords of the castle. During their lordship, they worked on the development of the city and even supported the work of [[Christianity|Christian]] missionaries. Having converted at the age of 12, Ukon commissioned a [[Church of Takatsuki|church]] and invited missionaries to visit and celebrate in religious festivities, such as [[Jesuits|Jesuit]] [[priest]] [[Luís Fróis]]. This caught the attention of [[Oda Nobunaga]], who requested a pledge of allegiance from Ukon to gain his support or face death, leading Ukon to agree with the request.<ref name="Database">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Database: Takatsuki Castle]]</ref>

In late 1582, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] infiltrated the castle after learning of the location of [[Fujichika Nakayama]], a [[samurai]] who betrayed Nobunaga from former Oda retainer [[Hori Hidemasa]]. Within the ''tenshu'', they found and assassinated Nakayama as they recovered a [[bow]] [[Ill-Fated String]] and a letter to betray Nobunaga from his personal effects.<ref name="Betrayers">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Betrayers]]</ref>
