The '''South Mareotis Trireme''' was an [[Egypt|Egyptian]] [[trireme]] which operated in [[Lake Mareotis]] during the 1st century BCE. So named because it sailed in the south of the lake, it was used to transport a pack of [[lion]]s in cages.
