A '''server bridge''' is a side simulation that allows the user to pass from one [[Helix]] server to another, with its entrance and exit taking the form of energy portals. They were widely used by the [[Assassins]] as a way to escape detection during [[Abstergo Industries|Abstergo]]'s server sweeps, allowing them to extract information from the [[Genetic memory|genetic memories]] in their company servers. This mechanism was not without risk, however, as users could end up trapped in the system and require rescuing by others due to the instability caused by incomplete and corrupted code. In 2014, an [[Helix Initiate|Initiate]] was tasked by [[Bishop]] with parsing through the memories of [[Parisian Brotherhood of Assassins|French Assassin]] [[Arno Dorian]]<ref name="21st">''[[Assassin's Creed: Unity]]'' – [[21st_century_conversations#Assassin's Creed: Unity|Modern day]]: "Initiate"</ref> and they had to make use of three server bridges, due to Abstergo being on high alert following an incursion led by [[Shaun Hastings]] that ended with the theft of genetic data, destruction of Isu samples and the melting of servers.<ref name="Resistance">''[[Assassin's Creed: Unity]]'' – [[The Resistance]]</ref> After reliving the assassination of [[Charles Gabriel Sivert]],<ref>''[[Assassin's Creed: Unity]]'' – [[Confession]]</ref> Hastings opened a server bridge through Belle Époque Paris, which the Initiate managed to escape through without any issues, leading Bishop to remark that not all were as fortunate as them during their first experience with the bridges. After reliving the final combat between Arno and [[Pierre Bellec]],<ref>''[[Assassin's Creed: Unity]]'' – [[Confrontation]]</ref> another sweep threatened to locate the Initiate and Bishop had Hastings create another bridge. This time, the bridge was set in 1944 during the [[Occupied France|occupation]] by the [[Nazi Party]] and the exit portal was located atop the [[Eiffel Tower]]. The Initiate had to evade gunfire and shoot down planes before being able to reach the next server.<ref name="Resistance"/>

After reliving Arno's assassination of [[Aloys la Touche]] and learning that [[Maximilien de Robespierre]] was Germain's conspirator,<ref>''[[Assassin's Creed: Unity]]'' – [[Rise of the Assassin]]</ref> the Initiate was forced into his third server bridge, this time set in late 14th century. The bridge included a set of catacombs and a quarry, with the exit portal being located near the besieged fortress of the [[Bastille]].
