==Biography==
===Military service===
In 1852, Private Sawyer Halford was aboard the [[HMS Birkenhead|HMS ''Birkenhead'']] as he talked with Lance Corporal [[Simeon Price]] about going towards the {{WikI|Xhosa people|Xhosa Kingdom}}. However, they crashed after passing {{Wiki|Cape Town}} onto a huge rock. Halford temporary separated from Price as he tended to other matters, like women and children and the [[horse]]s. However, he soon met back with Price as they were ordered by Lieutenant [[Grimes]] to stay and hold quarter. However, as the ship began to break, Halford, along with other [[soldier]]s, lost balance and seemingly died on impact in front of Price.<ref name="Prologue">''[[Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy]]'' – Prologue</ref>

===Finding Price again===
In 1861, an alive Corporal Halford surprised and visited Price in [[Millbank Prison]] to offer help to beat Price's desertion charge. Off his service, Sawyer admitted that he is on pension and has a wife and a daughter. Nevertheless, he offered to help Price give a message to [[Pierrette Arnaud]] for him.<ref name="Chapter 21">''Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy'' – Chapter 21</ref> Halford later tracked down Arnaud and gave her the message from Price. However, time passed as Halford later received a letter from Arnaud, who stated she went to [[Dublin]], and gave it to Price. In 1862, Halford later joined Price for his trial at [[Horse Guards]] and became his representative for the court. However, after Price's testimony of unfair treatment and rule system for soldiers, Halford wondered if he could win. However, due to [[Byron King-Noel, Viscount Ockham|Byron Ockham]]'s intervention, Price was immediately released from his arrest.<ref name="Chapter 24">''Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy'' – Chapter 24</ref>

===Hunt for the Magus===
At [[Bath, Somerset|Bath]], Halford, along with Byron Ockham, joined Price in his mission against the Magus, [[Oscar Kane]], Price's former mentor. Halford stayed atop in an alley with Ockham, Arnaud, and Arnaud's fellow [[Aurora Equestrian Troupe|troupe]] family until a fight broke out within the bunker between Kane and Price. Within moments, Halford joined another gunfight in the alley, which later led to the bunker. Within the fight, Kane's number dwindled as Halford saved Price's life from a gunman, whose neck he twisted. In the end, Kane lost but the room around them began to crumble. Halford took care of an injured Ockham as they all began to leave, except Price, who had to finally deal with Kane permanently.<ref name="Chapter 27">''Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy'' – Chapter 27</ref>
