The '''Rokkaku clan''' (六角氏, ''Rokkaku-shi'') was a [[Japan|Japanese]] noble house founded in the 13th century that originated from the province of [[Ōmi]], ruling over [[Kōga]]. The Rokkaku, just like his neighbors from [[Iga]], created a confederation of [[Ninja|''shinobi'']] families later known as the {{Wiki|Kōka ''ikki''}} and started developing what would be known as the {{wiki|Kōga-ryū}}, one of the two main {{wiki|ninjutsu}} traditions alongside the {{wiki|Iga-ryū}}.<ref>[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows|''Assassin's Creed: Shadows'']]</ref>

The clan's influence and power decayed rapidly after being defeated by [[Oda Nobunaga]] on 1568 and by {{Wiki|Shibata Katsuie}} on 1570, with [[Kōga]] being a village in ruins by the time [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] visit it in 1582.<ref name="Koga-ryu">[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows|''Assassin's Creed: Shadows'']] - [[Against the Koga-ryu]]</ref> Most of the surviving members forsake the clan, such as then patriarch [[Rokkaku Yoshikata]] who became a [[Buddhism|Buddhist]] monk<ref name="Koga-ryu" /> or his son [[Rokkaku Yoshimitsu]], who took charge of the [[Godai Shinobi]] and started working for the [[Shinbakufu]].<ref>[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows|''Assassin's Creed: Shadows'']] - [[The Godai Shinobi]]</ref>
