'''Myōshō-ji''' is a [[Buddhism|Buddhist]] [[temple]] located in northern [[Awaji]], [[Japan]]. During the [[Sengoku period]], the temple was situated in the region of the [[Eshima Coast]].

==History==
In 1585, the [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members [[Fujibayashi Naoe]] and [[Yasuke]] convened near the waterfall within the temple, where Naoe's mother and [[Master Assassin]] [[Fujibayashi Tsuyu|Tsuyu]] told them where she hid the {{Wiki|Kusanagi no Tsurugi|Sword}} [[Imperial Regalia of Japan|Regalia]] within its cave. While they discussed Tsuyu, a bird call occurred as [[Hattori Hanzō]] walked towards with them. Hanzō informed them that he had been watching them from afar but that the [[Japanese Rite of the Templar Order|Japanese Templar]] [[Kimura Yukari]] and her ''taishōs'' were tracking them. Yasuke told her that he will hold off the [[Sanzoku Ippa]] with Hanzō while she searched for the Sword.<ref name="The Regalia">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]'' – [[The Regalia]]</ref>

Naoe entered the waterfall and traversed its crevices all night but she discovered the Sword atop a stone mantle. Taking it, she made her way within a building and left, only to see Yasuke bounded in front of Yukari. Surrounded by her enforcer [[Imagawa Tomeji]], her [[Nowaki|other]] [[Yasuhira|two]] ''taishō'', and her samurai, Yukari demanded the Sword but Yasuke pleaded Naoe to not give it. In response, Tomeji knocked him out while Yukari promised not to kill them in exchange for the Sword. Despite her misgivings, Naoe agreed to Yukari's terms and gave the sword to the markswoman, only to pledge to get it back. With the Sword, Yukari reneged on her promise and told Tomeji to kill them.<ref name="The Regalia"/> 

Fortunately, Hanzō and his allies, including [[Konatsu]], came and unleashed a [[Arrow storm|barrage of arrows]] towards Yukari and her men. With some of soldiers dead, Naoe ran towards Yukari but the markswoman used a [[Smoke screen bomb|smoke bomb]], giving Yukari and her ''taishō'' a moment to escape. Naoe and her allies then defeated the remaining soldiers. After Yasuke regained consciousness, Naoe, Hanzō, and Yasuke discussed their next steps, including telling Tsuyu of their failed recovery, while Hanzō admitted that he will not join them as Tsuyu will be enraged hearing his name. However, before leaving, Hanzō told them that he will be in [[Sumoto]] if they needed him. Together, Naoe and Yasuke left to meet Tsuyu at the [[Sumoto Kakurega|safehouse]].<ref name="The Regalia"/>

At some point, Naoe and Yasuke returned to the temple and recovered three lost pages around its premise. They later climbed atop a tree north of the temple and [[Viewpoint|surveyed]] the region below them.<ref name="CoA">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]] – [[Claws of Awaji]]''</ref>
