In the 870s, he fell in love with a local woman named [[Ermina]], who soon became pregnant with his child. However, he went looking for Ermina, who left their community with no trace. From his search, he came to a nearby shrine, where he soon found her and the [[Vikings|Viking]] [[shieldmaiden]] [[Eivor Varinsdottir]].
