The '''1526 Macau fires''' were an act of terror set by [[Eight Tigers]]' [[Qiu Ju]] in response to the death of fellow Eight Tiger [[Yu Dayong]] at the hands of [[Chinese Brotherhood of Assassins|Chinese Assassin]] [[Shao Jun]].

Within moments, the port was on fire. While the villagers tried to escape the flames, Shao Jun managed to bypass the flames and save a few citizens before coming to find her [[Mentor]], [[Wang Yangming]], waiting for her on a boat. ==Aftermath==
After escaping the fiery port, Shao Jun reflected on the chaos from the fires and blamed herself for the lives lost by her actions. Within three years, her Mentor Wang Yangming consoled her and advised her that her actions were not the reason of the fires and that the Eight Tigers were to blame, especially Qiu Ju. ==Legacy==
Reliving the memory through the [[Animus]] at the [[Abstergo Industries Yokohama facility|Yokohama facility]], [[Kō Risa]], a descendant of Shao Jun, felt the same guilt and became withdrawn. Her specialist, Dr. [[Kaori Kagami]], consoled and reassured that these feelings would subside and that it was not her memory and told her she had a choice in her own path. However, after Risa left, Kagami contacted her [[Templars|Templar]] superior [[Ellen Kaye]] about the progress on her subject. However, Kaye warned her to tread carefully about the [[Bleeding Effect|effects]] the Animus may have on Risa and her previous work at the [[Madrid]] [[Abstergo Foundation Rehabilitation Center|facility]].<ref name="ACBSJC"/>
