'''Inumaru''' (died 1582), also known as '''The Ambusher''', was a [[Japan]]ese [[bounty]] hunter who worked for [[Wada Koretake]]. After Koretake's death, he and his fellow bounty hunters moved across to [[Kii]] to continue their criminal activities.

==Biography==
By 1582, Inumaru and his fellow bounty hunters were once allied with [[Shinbakufu]] member [[Wada Koretake]] and worked under his discretion.<ref name="Hunters of Kyonyo">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[The Hunters of Kyonyo]]</ref> After Koretake's death at the hands of [[Kyonyo]] and ''[[ninja|kunoichi]]'' [[Fujibayashi Naoe]],<ref name="Heads Will Roll">''[[Assassin's Creed: Shadows]]'' – [[Heads Will Roll (Shadows)|Heads Will Roll]]</ref> Inumaru and his associates traveled to Kii to exercise their exploits on the people of Kii. However, when Kyonyo arrived with his remaining party of the ''[[Ikkō-ikki]]'' in Kii, the bounty hunters saw an opportunity for revenge for their fallen ally.<ref name="Hunters of Kyonyo"/>

Initially, Inumaru and his men planned to ambush Kyonyo and his men. When the ambush occurred, both sides sufferred casualities while Kyonyo escaped the attack. Learning about the ambush, Kyonyo's father [[Kennyo]] met with [[Japanese Brotherhood of Assassins|Kakushiba ''ikki'']] members Naoe and [[Yasuke]] and asked for their help to protect his son. Arriving to the ambush site late, they managed to find a note where the bounty hunters were planned to meet at the [[Yakushi Onsen]] afterwards.<ref name="Hunters of Kyonyo"/> 

At the spring, Naoe and Yasuke found and heard Inumaru speaking to his men about his disgust over the lack of support from fellow bounty hunter [[Kamakichi]]. Swiftly, they confronted and killed Inumaru and then acquired the ''[[katana]]'', [[Mending Bond]], from his personal effects.<ref name="Hunters of Kyonyo"/>
